You are looking for ways to make positive changes in your life.  Perhaps you have been feeling stuck for a while now.  Change starts at the moment when you acknowledge to yourself "I can't live like this!" and "I need to change how I feel!".  With the support of a non-judgemental and empathic counsellor, you can change what is not working for you.  It is possible to be happy, less stressed, and have healthier and more meaningful relationships through taking a journey of self-discovery.  This is what counselling (sometimes referred to as psychotherapy) is all about.

My name is Joy, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).  I have been providing services for more than 10 years in various settings.  I have worked in private practice, a university counselling centre, community agencies, and out-patient mental health clinics.

I am especially interested in working with young professionals (20s to 40s) with concerns commonly faced by this age group. You may be in the process of finding out your place in the world, seeking to understand who you are, what you want in life, and where you are going.  I will help you explore areas such as identity, career choices, dating and relationships, sexual orientation, individuation from family, and life path.  Cross Cultural counselling is another area of interest in my practice. 

My goal is to help you achieve self-understanding, gain insights about your experience and your relationships.  When appropriate, I use mindfulness in building awareness, helping you become more compassionate and accepting of yourself.
